Dear Neighbors,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  This issue includes an announcement of a new grant for the township, an update on expansions to the recreation facility, some new business coming to Lumberton, and a few new items on the Community Calendar.

Two New Multi-Purpose Fields:  Earlier this fall, the Township seeded two additional multipurpose fields at the new recreation center next to the municipal building.  The two fields are expected to be available for play by the Fall of 2008.

New Office Buildings on Route 38:  The Land Development Board approved the construction of two single story 25,000 square foot office buildings on Route 38 behind Lucas Chevrolet.  The developer plans to build one building right away.  The initial building is expected to be leased to the NJ Department of Family Services to provide desk space for their field case workers.

New Business on Ark Road:  On November 15th, the Land Development Board approved the construction of a two story, 46,000 square feet manufacturing facility on Ark Road across from Rich May Landscaping.  The facility will be the home of Purest Colloids.  The facility will make  metal and mineral enriched water for specialty manufacturing processes and health foods.

Homeland Security Grant:  Lumberton has been awarded a federal homeland security grant for $95,000 to help complete the expansion the Lumberton Emergency Squad building.  The grant is expected to cover the cost of fire suppression equipment.

Super Wal-Mart:  Wal-Mart will be back in front of the Land Development Board again on November 29th at 7:00 PM to continue the hearing for their expansion to a Super Wal-Mart.  This will be the second special meeting.  The Land Development Board may decide on the application at this meeting or schedule a third meeting to complete testimony.
